What kind of materials do you use for custom cabinets?

We use a variety of materials. Of course you can choose hard woods and clear finishes which will always make our hearts happy.

We also use cabinet grade veneered plywood materials with various applied surfaces that we would work with you to select. We work closely with companies that provide high end surfaces that can be whatever species of wood that you desire.

For painted projects we use a mixture of cabinet grade veneered plywood and MDF products. The MDF provides you with a smooth surface for the paint finish and will provide a structure that is more resistant to warping or flexing than a natural wood construction.

All products can be discussed with our team and you ultimately can make the choices you desire. We will always walk that through with you to help you make the best choices based on your desires mixed with our experience.

How long does it take to create a custom cabinet?

That depends on the project. Of course it depends on our availability at the time. The scope of the project is the main factor. One vanity for a bathroom will obviously take less time than a full kitchen build. Also some kitchens are larger than others. Typically we can prepare an average sized kitchen in about three to four weeks once we are able to start the construction portion. That would assume also using relatively standard choices. Because we can do more unique styles and ideas it may add to the timeframe if you were to choose hidden drawers or spaces for example. It could add to the project if you want very detailed trimmings and so on. These are all up to you.

Having said that you will need to consider the time it takes to design the project and work out all of the details as well. It may take time to settle on your end goal. We consider the products that we are producing to be generational so its reasonable to take a little time to make this long lasting decision.

What kind of hardware options do you offer?

We can put just about any hardware on that you desire. Blum is a company that we often use for drawers and doors. They make long lasting slides and hinges that provide options like soft close and make for a smooth and long lasting application. While Blum is a good example there are several other companies that we might apply depending on the application and specific needs of your project.
